Mtskheta

Mtskheta is one of the tourist attraction places in Georgia. Besides the fact that Mtskheta is 20 min drive from Tbilisi, it is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must see place for the tourists.

Mtskheta has been inhabited since 1000 BC and was once the capital of the early Kingdom of Iberia. Mtskheta was also the religious centre of the country with a number of VI century churches.

Tourist attraction sites are: Jvari Monastery, Svetitskhoveli, Samtavro and Shio Mghvime. The tour takes 4-5 hours and is spectacular not only in summer, but in winter too with beautiful blue snowy mountains…
