Pirgebuli Virgin Mary Monastery, Georgian architectural monument, which dates to XIII century, is situated on the left bank of the river Khrami in Tetritskharo municipality, Kvemo Kartli. Acording to the inscription, the church was built when queen Rusudan ruled in Georgia. The church had frescos. There are several inscriptions on the walls, which say that Tbilel Saginashvili built a gate and a crypt in XVIIc. They are destroyed today. The church had a fence, where three-storey bell tower was built in. Today it is only two- storey. In the rocks there are caves, which used to be as monks’ cells.
A path to Pirgebuli Monastery leads through the fields of Chamomiles. On the way you will have spectacular views of the nature, even if it is rainy.
